Ottawa Trip

Oh Canada! Altario School Junior and Senior High students have just returned from an unforgettable trip to Ottawa. Departing on March 17 and returning on March 22, Altario students enjoyed the sights and sounds of our Nation’s Capital. While there, students enjoyed walking the historic streets and admiring the iconic Rideau Canal, Château Laurier, the War Memorial, Byward Market, and many other national treasures. Their days included visits to the Growcer, the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum, the Canadian Museum of History, the RCMP Stables as well as an afternoon touring Rideau Hall. Perhaps the most enjoyable experience was spending the day with our Member of Parliament, Mr. Damian Kurek, as he gave an unforgettable tour of Parliament Building. Sitting in on Question Period was certainly an eye opener and treat. A surprise bump into and selfie session with His Honourable Leader of the Opposition, Pierre Polieve was quite a bonus! Even with all this going on, students were able to find time to eat a Beavertail (or two) and get in a round of bowling. Traveling is one of the best ways to bring learning to life and make it meaningful. Altario students have made memories that will last a lifetime and help them on their path of lifelong learning. A special thank you goes out to MP Mr. Damian Kurek for sharing his valuable time and kindness.
