COPING WITH FAMILY LIFE IN 2021
IS EASIER WITH FREE ONLINE SUPPORT
Many families are entering 2021 with extra emotional stress due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Schools have an important role to play in helping children and teenagers, and parents, to cope with challenges and uncertainty, focus on resilience, and maintain regular routines. Schools can also play a vital role in normalizing reaching out for support. This, in turn, helps students focus on their education with fewer emotional/behavioural difficulties.
Free access to the evidence-based online positive parenting program, Triple P Online (and/or Teen Triple P Online, for parents of teenagers), continues to be funded by the Alberta Government, to help parents and caregivers stay calm and consistent, and support their children’s and teenagers’ emotional resilience and pro-social behaviour.
Please help support your parenting community by letting them know that online support is available for Albertan families in the form of the
Triple P – Positive Parenting Program® - absolutely free, funded by the Alberta Government – and that many families in Canada and around the world are benefiting from this support.
There are also specific and practical tips and positive parenting strategies for coping with changes to schooling (including learning from home, where applicable): https://www.triplep-parenting.ca/alb-en/get-started/hot-topics-about-raising-children-and-teenagers/and-school-life/
We have also just launched our new Canadian Facebook page, which we invite you to follow and from which you can also share posts: https://www.facebook.com/triplep.canada
You may also wish to support your school community through your own communications channels, for example your school newsletter / website:
